H5: Ala Moana Boulevard Improvements

This improvements project will include the reconstruction and resurfacing of pavement areas, the addition of a fourth eastbound lane from Hobron Lane to Kalia Road, the lengthening of left-turn stacking lanes onto Hobron Lane and Kalia Road, center median landscaping enhancements designed in consultation with the Outdoor Circle, replacement of highway lighting with decorative lighting similar to Kalakaua Avenue, and the reconstruction of portions of pedestrian sidewalks and driveways.

These road improvements will be paid for by the Hilton Hotels Corporation as part of a larger development surrounding the construction of The Grand Waikikian Tower, adjacent to the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa.  Hilton has also established a construction information hotline at 948-7600 and an informational website at www.villagerejuvenation.com.

H7: Nimitz Highway Median Landscaping Improvements

This improvements project will include landscaping work on Nimitz Highway median around the downtown area.

This repair project will include median fence repair on Ala Moana Boulevard around the downtown to Kakaako area.

O3: HECO Improvements, Various Roads, East End of Waikiki

This project entails various repairs and upgrades to HECO facilities in the East Waikiki area.

Kapiolani Boulevard Water & Sewer System Improvements

This project’s goal is to rehabilitate the existing sewer and water systems along Kapiolani Boulevard. The areas of rehab include Kapiolani Boulevard from Ward Avenue to Kalakaua Avenue, Kalakaua Avenue from Kapiolani Boulevard to Ala Wai Canal.

The construction consists of installing new water mains and laterals, rehabilitating sewer lines using Cured-In-Place Pipe methods, reconstructing deteriorated sewer manholes, upgrading the electrical system for traffic signals, installing new curb ramps and repaving and restriping portions of travel lanes.
