“Drive Akamai.org” is a major element of the City and County of Honolulu’s traffic congestion management and planning project which will assist in minimizing traffic impact through coordination, phasing, and recommended adjustments to traffic control plans for major City, State and private construction projects falling within the Downtown Honolulu-Waikiki area.

The project’s boundaries are Liliha Street (on the west), Kapahulu Avenue (on the east), the H-1 freeway (on the north) and Mamala Bay (on the south).

As part of its commitment to keeping the public informed, the City created this online traffic resource to provide immediate access to traffic advisories and project information for major construction projects in the Downtown Honolulu-Waikiki area. The website’s central feature is an interactive map.

Construction-related lane closures throughout the project area will be posted on the interactive map with traffic advisories divided into day, night or 24-hours closures so you can plan your trips accordingly.

The map also allows you to get detailed project information or access live traffic cameras by clicking on the appropriate icon. Additionally, you can zoom in on a specific street, or pan to your area of interest and print the information.
